Coogan plans to resurrect Paul and Pauline

Steve Coogan is planning to resurrect Paul Calf for a BBC special.

And there could even be a series in the pipeline featuring the mulleted Mancunian student-hater, and his slapper sister Pauline.

The one-off could be ready in time for the launch night of youth-based digital channel BBC3 on February 9, and would most likely be repeated on BB2 later.

The news comes days after Coogan ruled out another series featuring Alan Partridge.

A BBC spokesman told The Guardian: "Talks are at a very early stage about a Paul Calf special, to be followed by a series. Nothing is confirmed yet."

Paul Calf was the character which shot Coogan to fame, but he hasn't been seen on TV since Coogan's Run in 1995.
