Release the Lions...

Footie anthem out again

David Baddiel and Frank Skinner's football anthem Three Lions is to be released for a third time.

The classic song, recorded with The Lightning Seeds, will be rush outon Monday to go head-to-head with the official Ant and Dec track.

Skinner hates their effort, On The Ball, and has said: "We thought soccer songs were getting better with World In Motion in 1990 and Three Lions.

"But Ant and Dec's song has a retro feel going back to when football songs were garbage."

"Ant and Dec are really nice people but their song is just terrible."

Ian Williamson, of record label Epic, told The Sun: "We're re-releasing Three Lions because demand has been huge people associate it with the national football team.

"We're not going to promote it much, we'll just sit back and see how it sells."

Three Lions was originally released for Euro '96, and rejigged for the last World Cup in 1998, hitting Number One each time.
