Radio show seeks London sketch writers

The BBC is seeking untapped comedy talent to create sketches for a new radio show.

BBC London 94.9 is planning a run of eight half-hour programmes comprising sketches, monologues, characters and musical numbers.

The show will run in September, probably at weekends, and is seeking new writers to contribute.

Producer Julia McKenzie told Chortle: "We'll be using some writers and performers who already have a small foothold in some areas of the BBC but we are also very keen to invite work from some comedy writers and performers with no experience at all.

"Ideally we're looking for sketches of up to two minute durations from writers within the London area, as the intention is to provide a sketch show with an edge that is fairly reflective of the energy and attitude of London."

Anyone interested should email julia.mckenzie@bbc.co.uk or write to her at 35c
Marylebone High Street, W1A 4LG.
