Innes tribute to George

Eulogy at comedy festival

Neil Innes is to showcase a catalogue of new songs - including a eulogy to his friend George Harrison - at next month's London Comedy Festival.

The veteran comic songwriter, famed for his collaborations with the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band and the Python team, is starring alongside alternative comedy pioneer John Dowie in the show Ego Warriors.

New tracks include the Harrison tribute Everything and Nothing, a tale of driving misery (Hero Of The Motorway) and Face Mail in the Meat Zone, about the intrusion of text messages and emails.

The show also promises old favourites from the man who masterminded, with Eric Idle, the classic Beatles parody The Rutles.

He'll be joined by Dowie, who has moved from stand-up to writing and directing, and even creating a children's show, Dogman! He now describes himself as a performance poet.

Their show runs at the Canal Café Theatre from May 7 to 25 at 7.30pm.
