Sitcom axed, but Kumars to return

The Stephen Tonkinson sitcom Mr Charity has sunk to its lowest ever ratings.

Just 700,000 people switched on to this week's instalment, meaning it lost more than 40 per cent of last week's already poor viewing figure of 1.2million.

Just 3.4 per cent of the population now watch the show, according to the unofficial overnight figures.

Elsewhere on BBC2's comedy night, The Kumars at No 42 and Dr Terrible's House of Horrible have stabilised in the ratings.

The spoof chat show attracted a reasonable 2million viewers, up 100,000 on the previous week, while Steve Coogan's vehicle remains at a disappointing 1.2million.
