Martin's laugh-in

Steve hosts classic comedy showcase on web

Steve Martin is hosting a new radio series spotlighting an array of American stand-up talent.

And the show, made by Minnesota Public Radio, can be heard on the internet.

The first Comedy College show, which focussed on Bill Cosby, was broadcast in the small hours of yesterday.

But the half-hour tribute is available in Real Audio format at the programme's official website.

Other shows in the 39-week run will feature Bob Newhart, Tom Lehrer and Lenny Bruce, among others.

Programmes feature extended clips of classic routines, plus some background details and professional insight into the business.
