Miller investigates cutting edge physics

Ben Miller, of Armstrong and Miller fame, is to host a radio show about the cutting edge of physics research.

Miller completed a degree and almost half a PhD before quitting to go into comedy, and promises to mix the two in Radio 4's Try This At Home.

In the first show, to be broadcast at 9.30pm on July 23, he looks at the search for the Weakly Interacting Massive Particles, or Wimps, the so-called dark matter believed to comprise the bulk of the universe.

He will also be visiting the CERN particle accelerator in Geneva, and investigating the quantum theory of entanglement, which says two particles can 'communicate' without transmitting anything, in future weeks.
