Ghosts Australia gets a UK air date
Meet the new characters from July 25
The BBC has confirmed the air date of the Australian version of Ghosts.
The first three episodes will air back-to-back on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer from 10:30pm on Saturday July 25.
A total of eight episodes were made down under, and originally streamed there in November last year.
The BBC’s head of programme acquisition, Nick Lee, has called the remake ‘a fresh and very fun spin of the wheel for this beloved BBC format’.
The antipodean version contains a different cast of spectres haunting the country mansion – Ramshead Manor in this case.
They comprise:
- Mandy McElhinney as Eileen – an 1800s Irish publican with an alcoholic breath that makes living people drunk.
- Brent Hill as Gideon – a former naval officer from the Third Fleet, which carried 2,000 prisoners to the colonies.
- Ines English as Miranda – a betrothed social butterfly from the early 1900s.
- Michelle Brasier as Lindy – an aerobics instructor from the 1980s, able to manipulate electricity.
- George Zhao as Joon – a Chinese miner who died during the gold rush era.
- Jackson Tozer as ‘Satan’ – a biker from the 1990s who is actually is a sweet soul. He can touch and move objects with his finger as Simon Farnaby’s Julian Fawcett MP can in the British original.
The manor house is owned by Kate – played by Tamala Shelton – and Sean (Rowan Witt).
