Ross Noble and Lenny Henry go swimming with sharks

For new ITV series

Lenny Henry, Ross Noble and Amandaland star  Lucy Punch have gone diving with sharks for a new ITV reality show.

Also taking part in Shark! Celebrity Infested Waters are TV presenter Ade Adepitan,  McFly star Dougie Poynter and Countdown’s Rachel Riley.

Noble posted on Instagram: ‘After months of keeping it secret I can now tell you about a new TV show I am part of…. I cannot begin to tell you how much fun doing this was. Can’t wait for you to see it.’

The show was filmed on the Bahamian island of Bimini, home to around ten shark breeds including hammerheads, bull sharks and tiger sharks. Each celebrity went on a series of dives with increasingly large –and more dangerous – specimens.

The show marks the 50th anniversary of the release of Steven Spielberg’s Jaws and makers Plimsoll Productions say: ‘The celebrities taking part will confront their greatest fear – sharks.

‘Throughout their adrenaline-fuelled, challenge-heavy journey in the Bahamas – the shark capital of the world – the celebs will push past their limits to come nose to nose with nature’s "villains"

‘Their first-hand experiences will provide immeasurable excitement and new perspective; they’ll come to appreciate sharks’ valuable place on the food chain and in our ecosystem, recognising that a world devoid of these notoriously terrifying creatures is downright frightening.

‘And if that isn't enough, the celebrities will also face fear-inducing challenges whilst learning first-hand the important role sharks play in our oceans.’
