Omid Djalili sets up his own production company

...with a little help from his family

Omid Djalili has set up a new production company, with his three children.

Tiny Speck Productions  is already working on a scripted campus comedy series, a climate-related feature film, podcasts, and a documentary film.

The comic said: ‘My family and I have been working together for years, and we thought it would make sense to formalise it.

‘I’ve always believed that when we are laughing our brains work better - we see things more clearly and feel better able to handle life’s difficult questions. It’s something we need in the world, now more than ever.’

He says that the company’s aims are to explore society’s big questions ‘through a hopeful lens’, with scripted and unscripted comedy.

His kids, Ara Devine, Isabella Djalili-Devine, and Louis Djalili each have  experience in the film and television industry in their own right, and will be producers within the company.

Shahin Sobhani joins Tiny Speck as an executive producer. His credits include producing The Infidel, which starred Djalili with a script from David Baddiel.
