Their first new show together in 14 years

Alistair McGowan is to be reunited with Ronni Ancona for the first time since their The Big Impression show ended on BBC One 14 years ago.

The pair – pictured above as Richard Madeley and Judy Finegan – will be working together on the new Sky One impressions programme, The Week That Wasn't, which starts next month.

Ten episodes of the half-hour show were commissioned in February when it was provisionally titled Re-Dub!

At the time McGowan was the only name attached, but now it has been revealed that the team will include Ancona as well as Matt Forde, Luke Kempner and Jess Robinson.

The team will re-voice topical clips to give them a comic twist.

Executive producer Richard Allen-Turner, from Avalon, said that 'along with Russian Twitterbots [the show] will help further conflate fake news and real reports for viewers' entertainment.'

And Phil Edgar-Jones, Sky's head of entertainment, called it 'a gloriously silly and funny take on the world of news and celebrity from the mouth of Alistair McGowan and a host of brilliant mimics accompanying real world footage.'

The show starts on Thursday May 17 and will be recorded very close to broadcast to allow for the most topical jokes.
