Comics join Soho Theatre Live line-up

Mark Watson and Anuvab Pal are to record Amazon Prime stand-up specials next month.

The comics have been added to the roster for the second series of Soho Theatre Live, which is due out next year, and will tape their shows at the prestigious London venue on January 17

Watson will be recording his new show This Can’t Be It, in which he takes stock of his life after an app told him he was halfway through his time on earth.

While Indian comic Pal will be joking about British imperialism in Empire, which debuted at the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe. He went on to make a Radio 4 series about the same subject with News Quiz host Andy Zaltzman.

Free tickets to the recordings of the specials are available from Standing Room Only.

Earlier this week Chortle revealed how Spencer Jones, Luisa Omielan, Suzi Ruffell, Michael Odewale, Olga Koch and Natalie Palamides were taping specials for the new series.

The first series of Soho Theatre Live, released in 2020, comprised Aditi Mittal, Dane Baptiste,  Jen Brister,  Jessie Cave, Joel Dommett, Josie Long, Lazy Susan, Nish Kumar, Panti Bliss, Rhys James and Shappi Khorsandi.

And the second, put out last month comprised Jordan Brookes, Jessica Fostekew, Janine Harouni, Kai Samra, Sindhu Vee, Sarah Keyworth, Catherine Bohart, Nina Conti, Desiree Burch and Kieran Hodgson.
