Saturday Night Live recreated the moment Donald Trump stood and stared ‘like a sociopath’ when a healthcare executive collapsed in the Oval Office for its cold open sketch last night.

The president – as played by James Austin Johnson – also spoke about the East Wing demolition, Republican election defeats and his failure to put a lid on prices.

He said: ‘I promised grocery prices would plummet, and they did. They plummeted straight up.’

And amid fears the government shutdown will cause travel chaos ruining Thanksgiving for many American, Trump joked: ‘While we’re at it, we’re looking at perhaps stealing Christmas. We’ll be doing Grinch. I like the Grinch. He’s a great guy. You know, our wives are friends. We play golf sometimes.’
