Michael Che and Colin Jost addressed the US government shutdown, Sean ‘Diddy’ Coombs’ sentencing and AI ‘actress’ Tilly Norwood on Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update last night.

And they decided that some of Trump’s bizarre rantings would make a lot more sense if delivered in the voice of Jennifer Coolidge when the topical variety show returned to NBC for its 51st season.

Later, Bowen Yang returned as Dobby the House Elf after Michael Che brought up the clash between J.K. Rowling ad Emma Watson over the Harry Potter author’s anti-trans views.
