Show launches on Wednesday October 8

Here’s the first trailer for Celebrity Traitors, as the BBC announced the series will launch on Wednesday October 8 at 9pm.

The broadcaster believes it is such a momentous event that the opening episode will push the 10 O’Clock News back by ten minutes to allow for a 70-minute extended show.

Comics Alan Carr, Joe Wilkinson, Jonathan Ross, Lucy Beaumont,   Nick Mohammed and Stephen Fry are taking part.

Also joining host Claudia Winkleman in the Scottish Highlands will be 

Cat Burns, Celia Imrie, Charlotte Church, Clare Balding, David Olusoga, Joe Marler, Kate Garraway, Mark Bonnar, , Niko Omilana, Paloma Faith, Ruth Codd Tameka Empson and Tom Daley.

The celebrities will play the game of detection, backstabbing and trust, in the hope of winning a cash prize up to £100,000 for a charity of their choice.

It will air two nights a week, on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 9pm – followed by the spin-off showCelebrity Traitors: Uncloaked  on BBC Two hosted by Ed Gamble.

The broadcast details were revealed following the launch show of Strictly Come Dancing last night.

It has also been confirmed that The Traitors will return for a fifth series and applications are now open at bbc.co.uk/takepart.
