'I think you should win,' says Sofia Vergara

British comedy improv rapper Chris Turner appeared on the semi-finals of America’s Got Talent last night, freestyling live on TV about objects contributed by the judges and audience.

And when he ended on a line inspired by a tampon he brought the house down, reducing Simon Cowell to hysterics.

Judge Howie Mandel called New York-based Turner the ‘best act of the night’ while Mel B led the audience in a chant of the comic’s name.

Sofia Vergara said: ‘You are so clever, the way your mind works  so quick. You are a like a genius or something. It is so entertaining, it’s so much fun. You changed your act completely. I think you should win.' 

Finally composing himself, Cowell said: ‘That was so funny. That was absolutely brilliant. That is going to get you in the final.’

He’ll find out if that happens after the votes are counted tonight.
