Alan Partridge at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival
To launch the new series of his podcast From The Oasthouse
Here’s Alan Partridge walking around the garden created in his honour at the Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival.
Steve Coogan’s alter-ego visited the show to launch the ‘contractually-obligated’ fourth series of his podcast From the Oasthouse – which includes an episode about the creation of a garden
And in real life, the design by Norfolk-based designers, Carey Garden Design Studio, won one of five gold awards the Royal Horticultural Society handed out at the Hampton Court event.
The back fence to the ‘Sound Bath Garden’ takes the shape of the ‘Alan Partridge’ name in sound wave form, while all metalwork throughout the garden is 'finished in the same gold used on Subaru GC8 Impreza alloy wheels’.
Joe Carey from Carey Garden Design Studio said: ‘We’re absolutely delighted to have been awarded a gold medal for the Sound Bath Garden. It's a true testament to the garden's horticultural excellence and its joyful celebration of the iconic personality of Alan Partridge.’
The garden is open from now until Sunday, after which it will be moved to Pensthorpe Nature Reserve in Norfolk.
And From The Oasthouse is available to Audible subscribers.
