Jonathan Pie mansplains 'mansplaining'

From his new stand-up show

Jonathan Pie rails against the word 'mansplaining' in this clip from his comedy special.

The ever-angry alter-ego of Tom Walker says he hates the loaded assumption that the word has, insisting: ''I am a rude arrogant prick to everyone I meet' – not just women.

He rages: 'By throwing the word mansplaining at me you are not accusing me of rudeness, you are accusing me of bigotry... and it does nothing to forward the feminist agenda rather it buys into this idea that women are weak and need protection from the real world.'

Which he how he turns the rant into a pro-feminist statement, despite its apparent original intent.

The clip comes from his show Back To The Studio, recorded at the Hammersmith Apollo in London and now available on iPlayer.
