Matt Le Blanc is a gameshow host in the new series of Episodes, the first trailer has revealed.

The former Friends star is shown recruiting  Sean (Stephen Mangan) and Beverly (Tamsin Greig) to write his new comedy in the series, before tossing out some bad ideas.

But in a network meeting, the pair are told in no uncertain terms: 'Comedies don't have to be funny any more'

The trailer also shows that Le Blanc's character gets caught having sex online, and that Kathleen Rose Perkins's character Carol Rance, the network's former head of programming, is now washed-up and forever stoned.

The fifth and final series air on Showtime in the US on August 20. BBC2 airs the show in the UK.
