Speaking about UK and French elections

Andy Zaltzman has appeared on Australian topical comedy TV show The Weekly to speak about the French and British elections.

Of the choice facing UK voters he said: 'It will be very similar to the choice you get in a restaurant serving only rats' testicles, used syringes and the scrapings off chairs in nursing homes.'

He also called French frontrunner Emmanuel Macron 'a computer-generated 3D printout of a political void'.

'Critics say has no policies and no principles,' he said. 'And I say: Good! About time! If only all politicians no policies and no principles this planet would spend less of its time hiding behind the sofa and whimpering for its mother'

Zaltzman is down under appearing in the Sydney Comedy Festival.
