When Greg Davies was told to tone it down... by the Chuckle Brothers!
It’s not exactly the most naturalistic show on TV – but Greg Davis was told his performance was too big for the Chuckle Brothers.
The Taskmaster host played Henry VIII in a 2007 episode of Chucklevision – which he today revealed he got paid for.
Speaking on Capital Breakfast this morning, Davies said: ‘I auditioned to play Henry VIII on The Chuckle Brothers, and in the audition, the director said "you’re hamming it up a bit, calm it down a bit". Can you imagine how much I was over acting!
‘A grand by the way, that’s how much I got paid to play Henry VIII. 2007, that’s big money!’

Davies appeared on the show with Jamali Maddix to plug the return of Never Mind The Buzzcocks on Sky.
And while they claimed it was a kinder show now that in its initial BBC Two carnation, Maddix admitted that he upset one female singer, who he declined to name.
He said to Davies: ‘Do you remember she was like "you were really horrible to me" backstage? Do you remember that. And it wasn’t true! Do you not remember that?’
Davies responded: ‘That hasn’t been out yet! I didn’t think that she felt that you were horrible to her…I think it’s hilarious.’
