You might think everyone loved Tim Brooke-Taylor.
But not so, the weekly Popbitch newsletter reveals, recounting a story from the 1980s of a young child who had been lured on to a family trip to Derbyshire with the promise of meeting a Goodie.
True to his word, Brooke-Taylor popped round to say hello to the young fan only to see the child collapse into a fit of wails when he arrived.
‘Nooooooo,’ the kid yelled. ‘The beardy one! The funny one!’
