Tracey Ullman becomes Jeremy Corbyn for new BBC series

comedyHere’s Tracey Ullman as you’ve never seen her before – as Jeremy Corbyn.

The comic plays the Labour leader for the first time in the new series of Tracey Breaks The News, which starts on BBC One on Friday.

She said ‘we imagine [Corbyn]  has a marvellous sense of humour and will no doubt be delighted to see himself depicted by a middle-aged woman.’

Ullman – pictured below with Laurence Howarth as Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell –  added: ‘Please don’t shave your beard off, Jeremy – we’ve just had one made.’

Other new impressions this series – which follows a post-election pilot in June – will include Brigitte Macron, wife of French president Emmanuel (played by Ben Willbond).

Ullman said: 'It’s wonderful that there is so much comedy to be found in the world’s current terrifying doom spiral.'
