Jack Whitehall in charity footy match

comedyJack Whitehall has made many ill-fated attempts at sport – as viewers of A League Of Their Own will know.

Now this weekend he is to take part in a charity football match at Grimsby Town's home of Blundell Park – and is actually expected to do all right.

He will be part of an All Star XI - many of them YouTubers – put together by fellow comic, and Grimsby local, Lloyd Griffith.

Griffith said: 'It's great to have Jack onboard. He's a great pal, and played a bit of football together when I supported him on his tour but now it's time to show his true potential.

'He's played at Wembley more times than most of the England squad. I think people will be quite surprised at how unrubbish  he is.

'I'm feeling confident but don't expect any silky skills. It might be like watching a kick-about down Bradley Woods but in the security of a stadium.'

The £3 ticket price goes to leukaemia and lymphoma research charity Bloodwise.
