US comic headlines final night of Manchester festival

Michelle Wolf will headline the closing night of Manchester's Laughterama, it has been announced.

The open-air comedy festival returns to Castlefield Bowl for a fifth year, running from September 2 to 6.

The American joins a bill topped by Jack Dee, Nick Mohammed, Sara Pascoe, Fern Brady, Michelle de Swarte, Stewart Lee, Chris McCausland and Nina Conti across the five nights.

Laughterama launched in 2022  and now draws more than 10,000 comedy fans a year.

It's produced by Will Briggs and Cass Randolph of 57 Festivals, who've run comedy festivals across London and the south for over 15 years. Briggs said: ‘Every festival we've done here has been electric and this year's is set to be an all-time great.’
