Bath club stages 12-hour comedy marathon
To mark Live Comedy Day
A Bath comedy club is staging a 12-hour stand-up marathon.
The Jesters Comedy Club, a 50-seat basement venue will run continuous live comedy from 11am to 11pm on April 1, as part of Live Comedy Day.
The event features 15 acts across the day – including Alasdair Wallace, June Tuesday, Holly Leggett and Burt Williamson along with an open mic session, and also coincides with the Bath Comedy Festival
Sam Hawkins, who owns the club in Alfred Street, and will MC on the day, said: ‘We're a 50-seat basement comedy club, built by friends who want to get better at being funny. Will Arnett might not have portrayed any of our acts, but I’m sure if we persist, Chalamet will.
‘Comedy in the daytime on a Wednesday is a bad idea, so was starting a comedy club in Bath. Live Comedy Day is for us so we're making the most of it.’
Live Comedy Day was set up by the Live Comedy Association to promote the industry and has the backing of BBC Radio 4.
