British Comedy Guide launches open mic competition

Heats and final in London next month

The British Comedy Guide has announced a new stand-up contest for open mic comedians.

Stand-Up & Deliver will comprise three heats and a final, all in London across Sundays in November.

All heats at The Cocktail Club in the City of London on  November 9, 16 and 23 will be free and unticketed, with organisers asking for donations towards mental health charity Sane.

The final will be at the Museum of Comedy on November 30, with tickets going on sale soon.

A spokesperson for the website - which is running the competition with Off The Grid comedy club – said they hoped the competition would ‘shine a light on the vibrant, wonderfully diverse and varied open mic stand-up comedy scene’.

No prize has yet been announced.

British Comedy Guide already runs competitions called Next Big Thing and BCG Pro Talent Awards: Performance for more established comedians.

Acts can apply to take part in Stand-Up & Deliver until October 31 here
