Birmingham suburb hosts almost 50 shows in four days

The Kings Heath Comedy Festival is returning to Birmingham for a second year.

Almost 50 performances have been scheduled over the four days from July 24 to 27, with those taking part including All Killa No Filla star Rachel Fairburn, Taskmaster’s Fatiha El-Ghorri, and Live at the Apollo’s Lindsey Santoro and Harriet Dyer.

Away from stand-up, the festival will feature children’s shows, the BadFlix film club, and ‘Comedy Karaoke’ hosted by Masai Graham. Most shows are running on a pay as you feel basis.

The Saturday gala will be in tribute to volunteer Cate McGee, who died during last year’s festival as a result of an epileptic seizure. This show will be fundraising for the Epilepsy Society.

In a statement, organisers Alice Rosenthal and Kate Glaze said: ‘We were blown away by everyone’s support last year, and loved seeing the venues full of people having a lovely time! We hope 2025 will be bigger and better and can’t wait to see you all again.’

The pair also run the local Hare of the Dog comedy night.
