Cult podcast CheapShow release a vinyl album
As they celebrate their tenth anniversary
Cult comedy podcast CheapShow is to release a vinyl record to mark its tenth birthday.
The release will include music tracks – including the winners of its Urinevision Song Contest – sketches, and new content not previously aired on the show.
Paul Gannon, who created the show with Eli Silverman, said: ‘When we started CheapShow, one of our bucket list goals was to produce a comedy album based on some of the music we’ve created for the podcast. We wanted to create something special for our listeners that feels like a celebration of the chaos, imagination, and utter nonsense that the show has become known for.’
The LP is being released as a limited edition from Diggers Factory, a label specialising bringing independent audio projects to life through fan-supported campaigns, priced £22,
The podcast celebrates its tenth birthday on June 13, and earlier this month won the Golden Lobe award for indie podcasts that started small but grew big.
It revolves around the world of budget shopping, via bargain bins, Car Boot sales, charity shops, Poundland and more.
Gannon said: ‘This podcast should never have lasted ten episodes, let alone ten years. Yet here we are, older, poorer, but somehow still laughing—and still finding all sorts of stories, hidden in the back of the UK’s charity shops.’
