Aberdeen Comedy Festival returns after two-year hiatus

Line-up inlcudes Bridget Christie, Rory Bremner and Fred McAulay

The Aberdeen Comedy Festival is returning for the first time in three years.

It will comprise 32 events over two weeks with show from the likes of Bridget Christie, Deirdre O'Kane and Rory Bremner

Sharon Burgess, chief executive of organisers  Aberdeen Performing Arts, said: ‘Comedy is such a great leveller. It brings people together and is a fantastic chance to shine a light on the talent we have right here in Aberdeen as well as attracting the biggest and best names the genre has to offer. We hope everyone gets involved and enjoys what we have in store’

Other acts include Sophie Duker, Chris McCausland,  Adam Kay, Elf Lyons, Mark Watson, Angela Barnes and Fred MacAulay, who said: ‘Aberdeen audiences are fabulous. It’s a great city with a great sense of humour. The Festival is a must for any touring comedian.

Adrian Watson, chief executive of business network Aberdeen Inspired, added: ‘The line-up for the return of the Aberdeen Comedy Festival is bound to put a smile on everyone’s face. It’s a perfect mix of some of the biggest household names in comedy, with up-and-coming stars and an appeal across all ages and tastes.
