First look at Julian Barratt in Extraordinary

Former Boosh star joins Disney+ comedy

Here’s the first image of Julian Barratt in superhero comedy Extraordinary.

The former Boosh star plays  George, a coach at the Discovery Clinic which tries to unearth people’s superpowers.

The premise of the show is that everyone develops a power on their 18th birthday – but Jen, played by Máiréad Tyers, has got to the age of 25 without hers.

Series one dropped on free-to-stream ITVX yesterday, with the second series due to premiere on March 6 on Disney+ in the UK & Ireland.

The series also stars  Bilal Hasna, Siobhán McSweeney and comedian Luke Rollason, who plays Jen’s boyfriend Jizzlord.

Also joining the cast are. Rosa Robson as Nora, an unexpected person from Jizzlord’s past; and Kwaku Mills as Clark, the new work colleague of Jen’s flatmate Carrie (Sofia Oxenham) and Derek Jacobi, who will voice a special cameo role.

The series was written and created by Emma Moran and made by Sid Gentle Films, the production company behind Killing Eve.
