Taskmaster Australia announces season 2 cast

Studio filming starts in Melbourne today

The cast has been announced for the second series of Taskmaster in Australia.

Among those taking part in the 2024 series is Rhys Nicholson – who has just completed a debut UK tour – and Mel Buttle, The Great Australian Bake Off co-host who has also been on the antipodean version of I'm A Celebrity.

Also competing is Peter Helliar, the comedian who until recently hosted current affairs show The Project, and Aaron Chen, who brought his deadpan, off-kilter stand-up to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2019.

The line-up is completed by comedian, improviser, and breakfast radio host Concetta Caristo.

Tom Gleeson returns as the Tasmaster with Tom Cashman as his sidekick.

Filming on the studio part of the series started in Melbourne today.

The show airs on Network 10, and this year’s opening series was won by Danielle Walker. It averaged just under 500,000 viewers per episode, making it one of the top 20 shows of the week.
