Elf Lyons has got her new role pegged

Comic cast in fringe play about sexual relationships

Elf Lyons has been cast in a new play – all about the sexual practice of pegging.

In The Misandrist she plays Rachel, who embarks on a relationship with eternal ‘nice guy’ Nick. But feeling adrift in life she tries to ‘flip the narrative very literally’ and ‘take back control’ by strapping on the dildo.

Written by Lisa Carroll, who previously penned the play Cuckoo for Soho Theatre, the fringe theatre show is described as a story of ‘loneliness, disconnection, a relationship of sorts, and whether pegging is really the best Band-Aid'.

Nicholas Armfield, who has acted with the Royal Shakespeare Company, takes the role of Nick in the play, which runs at the Arcola Theatre in Dalston, East London, from May 11 to June 10.

Lyons also has a one-woman stand-up show of sexual anecdotes, called Elf Lyons Talks Dirty For An Hour, next being performed at The Bill Murray in Islington, North London, April 25.
