Channel 4 sets a return date

Channel 4 has announced the date for the return of Travel Man.

Joe Lycett has taken over from Richard Ayoade in the new series, spending 48 hours in some of the world's most popular mini-break destinations.

The series kicks off at 8.30pm on Monday April 4 with James Acaster in the Basque Country, with their tour starting in Bilbao. 

When he was announced as the new Travel Man, Lycett said: 'I’m beyond excited to take over the brilliant, charming show that Richard has nurtured. I’m less excited about the number of times I’m going to have to take off my shoes at Birmingham Airport.'

In future episodes, the comic will head to Split, Cyprus and Antwerp – but the guests have not yet been revealed

 Lycett first took the hosting duties for a one-off Christmas special, 96 Hours In Iceland, with Bill Bailey.
