Two comedians are on Richard Osman’s House Of Games this week: Jen Brister and Ian Moore.

Who is Jen Brister?

Brister was born in Kingston-upon-Thames, Greater London, in 1975 to an English father and a Spanish mother and got into comedy by studying it at Middlesex University – at the time the only place to offer such a course.

She made her solo Edinburgh Fringe debut in 2006, with Me, My Mum and I, comparing her life with her parent’s. She has now performed seven shows at the festival, with her latest, in 2019, addressing the topic of privilege (read our 4.5* review here)

On TV, she made her Live at The Apollo debut in 2017 and has appeared on the likes of Mock The Week and QI.

She is also an author with her first book, The Other Mother, subtitled ‘a wickedly honest parenting tale for every kind of family,’ published by Penguin in 2019.

She and her partner Chloe live in Brighton with their twin boys, born in September 2014.

Who is  Ian Moore?

Ian Moore is a comedy circuit veteran, who now divides his time between gigging in the UK and living in France as an author.

He wrote He two comic accounts of moving to France as a middle-aged English mod: A La Mod: My So-Called Tranquil Family Life In Rural France in 2013 and C'est Modnifique!: Adventures of an English Grump in Rural France in 2014.

And last year he became a novelist with  Death & Croissants, revolves around a middle-aged Englishman who runs a B&B in the Vallée de Folle, a fictional version of the Loire Valley.  TV production company Free@Last, makers of  Agatha Raisin, has bought the rights to adapt the novel for the screen.

Its success has led to the commission of two more books in the series, starting with Death and Fromage due out in July.

As a stand-up, Moore is a regular at the Comedy Store and the rest of the circuit, has supported Jack Dee and Lee Evans and played Montreal's Just For Laugh and he is a regular guest on BT Sport’s The Football’s On and BBC 5Live’s Fighting Talk and Talksport’s The Warm Up

He is also a keen chutney and jam maker.
