Starting at the Edinburgh Fringe

Hat Trick Productions, the TV company behind Have I Got News For You, Derry Girls and Father Ted, is launching a live comedy arm ahead of this year's Edinburgh Fringe.

The operation will be run by producer Queenie Miller – already a development producer at the company –and Simon Morley and Becca Thomason, of Margate's Chump's Comedy,.

Company founder Jimmy Mulville said: 'Hat Trick has been supporting shows produced by Queenie Miller at the Edinburgh Fringe very successfully for a few years now so we decided this year to take it a step further and join forces with the brilliant team at Chump's to establish a live comedy operation. 

‘We are at heart a comedy company and want to produce comedy wherever people want to watch it – television, YouTube and in theatres.’

Miller’s slate at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe, produced in association with Hat Trick, includes shows from Ada & Bron, Bella Hull, Daniel Petrie, Valeria Vulpe, Freya Parker, Rob Preston and Jack Shep.
