'I’ve always fancied myself as a bit of a chef'

Joe Pasquale is taking part in Celebrity MasterChef later this summer. 

The comic has been unveiled as one of the contestants in the first episode, alongside Olympic weightlifter Emily Campbell, TV and radio presenter Jason Mohammad, The Wanted singer Jay McGuiness, Joe Pasquale and 2025 Love Island  contestant Shakira Khan. 

Pasquale said: ‘I love a good challenge. I don’t like to be in shallow water; I love the deep end… and I love the adrenaline that goes with pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. 

‘I’m a huge fan of the show and have watched it for many years. I really hope to learn something as I’ve always fancied myself as a bit of a chef as I love to experiment but never had the confidence to pursue it.’

The show will air on BBC One later this summer, although exact broadcast dates have not yet been revealed. 

Pasquale - who this weekend revealed he believed his Norfolk house was haunted - is heading to the Edinburgh Fringe to appear in 11½  Angry Men at the Pleasance at EICC from next week.
