Shrill star Patti Harrison to make her UK stand-up debut

Comic 'poised to become the most visible working trans comedian in America’

American actress and comedian Patti Harrison is to make her UK stand-up debut next month

She appears in Shrill alongside Aidy Bryant and Lolly Adefope as ‘sociopath-adjacent’ Ruthie.

Earlier this year she became the first known transgender actor to voice  an animated Disney character – Tail Chief –  in Raya and the Last Dragon and she has just made her debut starring role in a feature film in Together Together with Ed Helms.

Rolling Stone magazine has said she is ‘poised to become the most visible working trans comedian in America’, while she made Variety’s annual 10 Comics to Watch list in 2019 released at the Just for Laughs festival in Montreal. At that festival, Chortle reviewed her as ‘an outlandish and unique act’.

Her TV writing credits include Netflix’s I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson and Big Mouth

Harrison is now coming to Soho Theatre for a week-long run, starting on November 8. Tickets are available here.
