Air date for Russell Howard Stand Up To The World

Comic's tour of Australia and New Zealand

Sky has confirmed an air date for the new travelogue series Russell Howard Stand Up To The World.

The three-part series, which launches at 9pm on May 31, follows the comic as he performs in Australia and New Zealand,  becoming the first international comics to do so post-Covid.

Following two weeks in quarantine to gain access,  Howard tries  divebombing, sheep shearing, underwater driving and Maori hot pool cooking in New Zealand where he meets Kiwi actor Sam Neill, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern’s partner Clarke Gayford and comedian Urzila Carlson.

And in the Australian leg he spends time with Tim Minchin and meets real life mermaids and gets up close to koalas in the care of Robert Irwin, son of the Aussie zoo legend Steve Irwin.

Producers Avalon, who also represent Howard as agents, said: ‘In each location Russell notices the subtle and delightful eccentricities of each country and presents them back through his stand-up performances.  Experiencing the unique local humour (and heckling) of the locals first-hand and revelling in our similarities and differences.’

Howard resumes his UK tour Respite next month.
