Will Smith sitcom available on demand from January

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is coming to Sky Comedy from the new year.

All 148 episodes of Will Smith’s sitcom, spanning six  seasons from 1990 to 1996, will be available on demand from January 1.

The news comes as the comedy – about a teen who moves to Los Angeles’ wealthiest neighbourhood to escape the gangs of West Philadelphia – is being rebooted as a gritty drama.

Smith's company Westbrook Studios is producing the remake, based on a viral YouTube trailer.

The originals will be available from  January 1.
