C4 commissioner joins Charlie Brooker's firm

Jon Petrie is new head of comedy at Broke & Bones,

Channel 4 comedy commissioner Jon Petrie has joined the new production company set up by Black Mirror creators Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones.

He becomes head of comedy for the company, Broke & Bones, after 18 moths at the broadcaster.

At  Channel 4,  Petrie oversaw shows including Friday Night Dinner and The Windsors. 

Previously, he produced hit BBC Three series People Just Do Nothing for Roughcut Television, having initially discovered the show on YouTube.

Jones told trade website Deadline:  'Jon has a deep passion for finding and nurturing the most amazing talent and stories.

'The UK has some of the best television in the world and I’m delighted that Jon is joining as head of comedy so we don’t have to worry about messing it up.'
