Spitting Image sold to Belgium

Comeback set for this autumn

The revived version of Spitting Image has been sold to Belgium.

The country’s SBS broadcaster has bought the rights to the first two seasons of the satirical puppet show, which is due to be revived for subscribers to Britbox this autumn.

Spitting Image co-creator Roger Law has returned to lead the creative team of the show, which is being produced by Avalon.

Development of the puppets is already under way with Donald Trump, Prince Andrew, Vladimir Putin, Harry & Meghan, RuPaul, Boris Johnson, Beyoncé, Elon Musk, Adele, James Corden and Dominic Cummings among those being parodied.

An international writing team is also being assembled under the gaze of showrunner Jeff Westbrook.

Spitting Image originally ran for 18 series between 1984 and 1996
