And Shameless writer to create Dan and Sam script

The movie version of Mark Watson’s 2015 graphic novel has found a director.

Japanese filmmaker Hiraki will helm the supernatural romance Dan and Sam, which the comedian originally wrote with illustrator Oliver Harud.

And according to The Hollywood Reporter, Molly Smith Metzler, who has previously worked on Shameless and Orange Is the New Black, will be writing the screenplay.

Dan and Sam revolves a young London couple who have it all, until the woman, Sam, dies unexpectedly. But they are granted a reprieve and she revisits Dan as a spirit one night a year – but only until he falls in love again.

Hiraki previously directed the  Berlin International Film Festival award winner 37 Seconds.
