PBH Free Fringe launches a London festival
50+ events over three days
Organisers of Edinburgh’s PBH Free Fringe are launching a three-day mini-festival in London.
More than 50 comedians and variety performers will be taking part in the event from June 27 to 29, with will help raise money for the organisation’s Edinburgh operation.
Those taking part include Mark Thomas (pictured), Mark Simmons, Shelf, Rob Auton, Sam Nicoresti, Heidi Regan, Attila The Stockbroker, Trevor Lock, Andrew O’Neill, and Rob Copland.
It also includes a rare performance of the cult favourite A Young Man Dressed as a Gorilla Dressed as an Old Man Sits Rocking in a Rocking Chair for 56 Minutes and Then Leaves…
All shows will be run on the Free Fringe model, first-come first-served with no cost to entry and donations sought at the end.
Festival co-organiser Alastair Clark said: ‘If you’ve never been to the Fringe I think it will capture a lot of the vibe and the atmosphere of being in Edinburgh but for a fraction of the price.
‘It’s so great that so many artists give up their time to help The PBH Free Fringe cover its costs. If it wasn’t for PBH I wouldn’t be a comic now, and I’m sure I’m not the only act in that position.’
The events all take place at the Colab Tower in Southwark and the listings are here.
Established in 1996, The PBH Free Fringe is a registered charity that provides artists with venues at the Edinburgh Fringe for free. In return, artists don’t charge for tickets, instead keeping 100 per cent of any donations the audience makes.
