Contest starts in November

Boutique London comedy venue 2Northdown has launched its second new act competition, with a £500 top prize to be won.

 The talent hunt – which as last year won by  musical comic Katie Pritchard, pictured –  is open to all types of comedy acts, with the venue especially encouraging sketch, character and alternative acts to apply. 

Heats will run from November 25 to January 27, with the semi finals on February 17 and 24 leading up to the final on March 2.

The top prize include an hour-long slot to hold a preview at 2Northdown in preparation for the Edinburgh Fringe.

Applicants must be over 18, not have been performing regularly for more than five years, and not have made their official debut at the Edinburgh Fringe.
