Benjamin gets a DVD release

Own Simon Amstell's film

Simon Amstell’s feature film Benjamin is to be released on DVD on August 12, distributors Verve Pictures have announced.

The bittersweet comedy was his first film to be released in cinemas following Carnage, about a future in which everyone is vegan, for BBC iPlayer.

In Benjamin, Colin Morgan plays the title character: a rising star filmmaker, who is thrown into emotional turmoil as he prepares to launch  his second film, when his hard-partying publicist, introduces him to a mesmeric French musician called Noah.

Set in London, the film boasts original music from James Righton of the Klaxons and a cast that includies, Phénix Brossard, Joel Fry, Jack Rowan, Jessica Raine and Anna Chancellor.
