Sarah Silverman gets a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

...and she makes a dark jokes about it

Sarah Silverman has been given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The  comedian has become the 2,649th name to be added to the Los Angeles walk since its founding in 1961, with guests at the unveiling including her ex-boyfriend and talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, and Wreck-It Ralph costar, John C. Reilly.

At the ceremony she joked: ’In a time… where anti-Semitic crime is up 57 percent since this douchebag has taken office, it is not lost on me that I am very lucky that I get a star and I don’t have to sew it on my clothes.

‘I don’t know if that’s gallows humour or just like "it’s funny ’cause it’s true" humour.’

‘Sarah Silverman is one of the funniest comedians of modern times. She tells it like it is and never holds back,’ said Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies. ‘We are proud to have this witty multi-talented woman on our historic Walk of Fame representing female comedians past and future.

Her star is in front of the Hollywood Toy & Costume Shop, next to children's entertainer Mr Rogers.
