Cosby Show's Grandpa Huxtable dies

Actor Earle Hyman was 91

Earle Hyman, who played Bill Cosby’s dad on his long-running sitcom, has died at the age of 91.

A classically trained Shakespearean  actor, he was best known for playing Russell Huxtable on 40 episodes of the NBC series.

The role earned him an Emmy nomination in 1986.

 Hyman was also the voice of Panthro on Thundercats, and twice starred in West End plays in the late 1950s.
