Victory in Cannes

Horrible Histories has won an international Emmy award.

The kids’ sketch show won the factual category at the fifth ceremony dedicated to children’s programming in Cannes last night.

In other victories for the UK, Aardman’s Shaun The Sheep episode The Farmer's Llamas, won the animation prize; CBeebies show Hey Duggee won the preschool category and the Peter Pan film Peter & Wendy, which aired on Boxing Day 2015 on ITV,  won the TV movie and miniseries category.

The president of the Emmy International  Academy, Bruce L. Paisner, said: ‘Nothing is more vital on television than the programming kids watch every day. We congratulate all the winners for their outstanding achievements and for setting the high-quality standard we all expect for our kids.’
