CONNOR BURNS: GALLUS: The Scottish comedian's latest special – as recorded at Glasgow's King's Theatre – is released on 800lb Gorilla Comedy's streaming service today, ahead of its free distribution on YouTube on September 1. Its title is a Scots dialect word meaning bold, daring or reckless.

Tuesday August 4

JOE & DAVID'S MAGICAL SITCOM TOUR: A part-travelogue part buddy-comedy in which Joe Wilkinson and David Earl explore their love of classic sitcoms. This episode is a tribute to Porridge, taking Joe through recreated sets and locations tied to the show. Read an interview with the pair here. U&Gold, 9:00pm.

Wednesday August 5

TED LASSO: Jason Sudeikis's upbeat football manager is lured back to AFC Richmond – to coach the women's team. Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift return to the Apple TV+ comedy, alongside new cast members including Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely.

Friday August 7

ALLEY CATS: Ricky Gervais's adult animation arrives on Netflix, featuring a familiar supporting cast of his regular collaborators, including Diane Morgan, Kerry Godliman, Tom Basden and David Earl. A preview clip released last week features Gervais's usual brand of sweary, oh-so-edgy boorishness, artificially sweetened with saccharine soppiness:
